I have wondered how they get this "grungy" looking effect. Does anyone have any idea? My search for tutorials has come up empty.

They call it "grunge'. Here's a link with a ton of "grunge" tutorials.

search for 'Photoshop brushes grunge' on Google - most of that is done with grungy brushes, there are a ton of them around. other filters and effects went into your samples but the custom brushes did alot of what's there.
I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!

Yeah it is. If there's something you want to do in Photoshop, they've got a tutorial or two or three.
