actually you can discredit something, that doesn't mean its true or not.
UFO sightings have been discredited over the years by the Air Force, but all of their explanations are completely ridiculous - even more than UFO's in the first place! To name a few - swamp gas, flares, weather balloons...
The descriptions of the actual crafts and aliens themselves by Pilots, Military Officials, and Radar Operators of their movement should convince anyone that the Air Force is hiding something.

I don't claim that something is definitely false just because it has been discredited by some person or persons but the Majestic 12 papers are not widely accepted as truth anymore even inside the UFO believer community. Obviously some people still think they are real but the majority of responsible researchers (that I am aware of) either do not believe the papers are real or believe there is too much doubt to accept them as real.

I've studied them, myself, and I tend to think they are a hoax or at least a disinformation tactic.

You are correct that Stan is well-credentialed but Stan also tends to be credulous. You will rarely hear Stanton Friedman expounding at length on some major piece of evidence that he believes is false.

There is no doubt in my mind that UFOs exist. I speak from personal experience.

There is also no doubt in my mind that there is life elsewhere in the universe.

There is doubt in my mind whether or not alien beings are related to earthly UFO sightings. To me, it's not a question of "are UFOs real", it's a question of "are UFOs earth technology or not".

I haven't seen any UFO's - well, at least none that were as wild as some of the stories I've heard. My wife claims to have seen one on our way back from upstate NY a few months ago(as I slept in the passenger seat). To me the Roswell case which has had 100's of witnesses, mostly military by now seals the deal for me as far as aliens go - The airforce has changed its story so many times now that theres no way I will ever believe what they say about it. All those abduction cases though, especially the Betty and Barney Hill and Travis Walton cases, are really hard to discredit.

Next Thursday, Peter Jennings is going on Primetime (ABC) and doing a two hour special on UFO's. That should be good. We haven't gotten too much new info in recent years. Been the same stuff over and over on SciFi, Disc, TLC, etc... So hopefully they'll have two hours of new stuff.
