What to do in Mexico? Below Houston

Contemplating going to Mexico, I live in Houston, so it'd be the part of Mexico that is under Texas. Sadly, I don't know what Mexican city that is.

What are some fun things that a couple guys can do while there, without going to far into Mexico?
How are the hookers?

ummm if you live in Houston there isnt a mexican city for 500 miles..below Houston is the Gulf of Mexico.
Nuevo Laredo is probably the closest border town..but I wouldnt go.. there is a huge drug gang war going on there right now people getting killed everyday, you could try Matamoros, its across from Brownsville, but I cant tell ya much about that
If I was going to mexico I would go to one of the resort citys you'll have to fly tho...Mazatlan, Cabo, Acapulco are along the west coast and below baja calif... Cancun is probably closest to you but I hear it hasnt fully recovered from last years hurricane. as far as hookers..never fucked one so I cant help ya there.

How are the hookers?

If you go to Mexico, you will probably want to go to Matamoros, Ciudad Acuna (nice), or Nuevo Laredo. As far as "hookers", the place (in all of these cities) is called Boystown, just ask a cabby to take you there. Oh, and just a friendly word of advice, be careful (smart) over there after the sun goes down.

35 people have been killed in nuevo laredo since Jan 1'st. Those 35 were killed for a reason. But I belivev that another 100+ have been killed by stray bullets and such.

NUEVO LAREDO, Mexico, March 7 (Reuters) - Suspected drug hit men on Tuesday killed four policemen in a shootout in this crime-ridden Mexican city on the U.S. border, police and witnesses said.

One of the dead was the second-in-charge of a state police force sent to Nuevo Laredo last year by President Vicente Fox's government to help end a drug feud, the sources said.

The killings took place in broad daylight on a busy highway leading to the airport in Nuevo Laredo, across the Rio Grande from Laredo, Texas.

The policemen and their attackers fought for 15 minutes in a shootout that spilled over into an auto dealership and left bodies strewn on the ground.

"There are a bunch of people wounded," a witness said.

More than 40 people have been killed in Nuevo Laredo this year in a struggle over smuggling routes between the local Gulf cartel and an alliance of drug traffickers from the western state of Sinaloa.

monterrey!!!!!

thats like a 2 hour drive from nuevo laredo, its the economy city from mexico, all the business executives and corporative offices from mayor companies are here.
hot girls, great bars/clubs, a lil expensive, unless you come to the boring part of town
