I'm not sending them huge amounts but even so the clicks should be consistant as they usually are. The past 36 hours has seen a 65% drop in the counted clicks sent. Time to pull all AFF ads I think until it's fixed.Ignorance is never bliss.

Their stats have never been real time. They lag up to 2 days for me sometimes. It's a bit annoying when you are trying to fine tune things but it doesn't affect my checks which still arrive like clockwork.
My last two days have been the best with them for several days.
It has been stated numerous times (search old threads) that their Geo stuff has been hard hit by the much higher than expected demand since most Webmasters have found they basically triple conversions.
I understand they are bringing more servers online as soon as possible within the next couple weeks to cope with the higher than expected success of geo targetting. I am not using geo targetting with them until the new servers are up.Comment

I have been a long time supporter of AFF, and yes, sales have been down in the New Year. But, I do an even larger buisness in the Mainstream dating industry, with a number of sites that are not associated with AFF in any way, and the sales for these sites are also down a compariable amount. So, chock it up to seasonal variations...not AFF.
Another high point for AFF....if you are at all concerned about providing the consumer with a quality product..then AFF is one of the better ones. Sure, there's still approx. 1 female to every 10 males. But there's a large enough selection of REAL members to keep most people happy.
Jack (Affiliate Mgr) at AFF knows that I am not a big fan of the Geotargeted banners with images. I've said it before...this adds a certain sleaze element to AFF. The girls shown in the banners DO NOT live in your home town. Call it what you want...plain and simple..it's FALSE advertising.
And finally, to all of you who claim that your sales have gone up 3 times since implementing the geo banners...this may or may not be true. I send a considerable amount of business to AFF. More then enough so that I can do accurate statistical analysis on sales trends. At about the same time that the geobanners were introduced, my sales too have roughly doubled. And I DON'T use the banners. So, I am much more inclined to attribute the increases to seasonal variations...not the geobanner. Did I mention that the Geobanner is false advertising. My cread is that I treat every single customer as if they were my next door neighbor or a good friend. (And they could be). My post covers all of these points. As illustrated...the stats are NOT shitty, they are simply consistent with seasonal slowdowns showed across the dating industry. So, is the slow loading causing problems..my stats would say, No they are not.
That's what I always love about GFY. The posts that claim completely unsubstantiated facts are applauded. The posts that follow claims with fact are ridiculed. (Or perhaps, the formal business experience or educational levels are simply not high enough to allow for comprehension).Comment

Hmmm...I see that this might be a waste of time. But, again, I repeat, as a webmaster that not only sends AFF a considerable amount of traffic, but also traffic to many of the other mainstream dating sites (and no, making a couple sales a day to a program does not constitute "considerable traffic", nor does it provide enough data to make statistical conclusions)...So I repeat, this is seasonal. At the end of the day, traffic doesn't mean anything. Conversions to sales means everything. And the slowdown on conversions on a day to day basis is consistent with the rest of the online dating industry.
As an aside, there have been absolutely no noticeable slow downs in loading times in my region.
But, alas, time to return to the unsubstantiated conspiracy theories.Comment

no problems, still doing over 250 - 300 joins a day
but I cache all 50 states listings onto my own server every 24 hours and serve them up geo style... a little more advanced than how most people send traffic. As long as the join form loads from AFF thats all I care about
