        Actually I work for a home improvement company - the boss wants me to take the original site and put it up on his server so the locals can contact him insteadof the main branch. I would never do such a thing with my own projects, but it's his balls, not mine. I'm either going to find an easy way to do it, or ctrl+s through the whole site and then change all the links so they go to the right site with the same page, it's just tedious shit that I don't want to do.

          I'm pretty sure wget.... HMMM
          maybe
          The site is on his server and I am almost positive he doesn't have the kind of access you need to install wget, and I need to have this done by Sunday when an ad hits the newspaper. good idea though.

            you can do this with wget for sure

            I'm sure someone here can find the time to write something up or you so it maintains the directory's and stuff
            I don't endorse a god damn thing......

              if you want to change all the links in a folder, get textpad (textpad.com) =)

                if I could do a mas download on the site and change the simple thing - "sitea.com" to "siteb.com" I would have no problem. My problem is the horse, not the cart. Or the other way around, whichever you look at it.

                    Wolfy if you havent found a short cut by now ctrl save, and find replace that bad boy.

                    Gotta keep the client happy.

                    Nice talking to you the other day. Good luck with this.

                      yeah the ctrl save thing is a bitch though. I found a better way - webzip, then find replace the whole dirty beyotch

                      I'm fired up, I probably just saved myself about 3 hours of link fixing :P

                            spidersoft.com - but i am sure there are easier ways to do it, as long as you have ful access to the server you are trying to work on. For example, what I am doing right now. I don;t even have to ask, i already know this guy doesn't have shit for access rights, he doesn't even have a cpanel. I'm lucky to get ftp rights :P

                            wget would be a dream right now 8)

                                  If it was a site on my server I was working on, I would! you need ssh access to runa wget though, and I would place a $500 bet that I don;t have that right on this server. However - for the sake of shits and giggles, I'll try it anyway.
                                  In the meantime, this would come in handy for a few things -

                                  I need a program that will remove everything between these tags, in the source of the whole folder's files-
                                  <!--------copied with spydershit blah blah------>
                                  blah blah
                                  color irritating green
                                  asshat says
                                  what?
                                  <!--------copied with spydershit blah blah------->

                                  Anybody got the answer?

                                    actually I don't need anything to find between tags, I just need to be able to enter a paragraph, or multiple lines, rather than just one line, of code to search and replace.

                                              That program is pretty slick. Is there a way to use multiple widcards? I want to kill everything between any of the <!---******---> tags.
