Guitar solos... remember when we had those?

Is it just me or did good guitar solos weave themselves into our brains forever? For example, I can be in my car and hear a song from the 70's, 80's or early 90's that I have not heard in 10 years and still know every note, every riff, every harmonic, every arpeggio and bend of a string as if I had written it myself.

I can not play any of them but I KNOW them note by note.

You the same way? I think its odd how I can remember these in such detail after all these years but I can't remember where I left my hat a few hour before.

    Yes, I remember.

As a general trend, musicianship has gone down the tubes.

Used to be all a Man in Black had to do was into Sun Studios and blow their shit away.

I knew a badass dyke who can tear the shit out of a guitar and all i can do is console my friend when she tells me "Fuck, I'll never be on the cover of Playboy..."

it was in the 80s when electronica synthesized pop was introduced when guitar solos I think took the back seat
