    Do you consider GFY like a family to you?

    I consider GFY like a large family full of cousins, uncles, aunts, brothers and sisters. Dysfunctional most of the time, but strong, rich and fun.



    When breaking news occurs, people on GFY are there to talk, give their opinions and share their thoughts. When something bad happens, many here will lend a helping hand, either with words or money. But best of all, on GFY, you always get straight honest answers.

    I propose a toast to GFY,
    Amen!

                                                                          To be honest, it's more of a necessary meeting place.

                                                                          However, as far as I can tell, GFY has made the greatest inroads into this industry (so far). There are other boards which are more my style when it comes to courtesy and intellectual discourse, but they are not on the heartbeat of this industry as much as GFY seems to be. It's possible that the free-for-all nature of GFY is what makes it so popular.

                                                                          So long as posters title their threads honestly and the Ignore feature is always available, I can find what I'm looking for without needing to bother with the trivia.

                                                                          I value GFY. I wish I had the patience to explore years ago - there's lots of business done through this board.

                                                                          I wish the moderators would raise the bar even a bit when it comes to blatently ignorant postings.

                                                                          For example, if a poster intentionally titles a thread to mislead, can 'em!

                                                                          I can see the value of allowing anyone to discuss anything (after all our industry is about freedom of expression), but to allow registered users to waste others' time with BS thread titles serves no purpose whatsoever.

                                                                                                  I do not think of the people on this board as family. Like the quote in the GFY banner states, I consider this a place "where the industry meets". All the big players are here, although they lurk most of the time.
