    Internet Access at the Luxor

Anyone know if the Luxor has WiFi in their Tower rooms?

My advice is call their 1-800 number. Hopefully the person that answers actually knows what the hell they are talking about.

found this on a site :

Q: I'm coming to Vegas and need somewhere to use my laptop, get high-speed or wireless access the Web, and send and receive faxes. Where should I go?

A: Many hotels offer data ports in their guest rooms, so check out our hotel guide to see which hotels will keep you connected. Most hotels also feature business centers with fax machines, printers and computers you can use to access the Web. The Venetian has a printer/fax machine in every room, and the Four Seasons and the Ritz-Carlton both offer technology gurus to assist their guests. But make sure to call ahead and inquire about access in your hotel before lugging that laptop to Vegas.

If you want to leave your computer at home but still need to stay connected, you have plenty of options. All the guests rooms at the Aladdin have a computer with high-speed Internet access available for a fee of $9.99 every 24 hours. Pay-per-use Web terminals can be found at the Hard Rock Hotel and Mandalay Bay. Another hooked-up location is the Tropicana Hotel, which has four Internet terminals near the buffet -- access costs 39 cents a minute, but for faster access, the business center offers high-speed terminals for only 69 cents a minute. Also, the Tropicana has "Wi-Fi" wireless hot spots in the convention area and poolside for laptop surfing. McCarran International Airport has pay-per-use kiosks located in areas throughout the C and D gates, and the MGM Business Center offers access for 70 cents per minute.

If you don't want to head to a hotel or the airport, try the Cyber Stop Internet Cafe, which has a full-service location in the Hawaiian Marketplace gift shop (at Polo Towers), featuring not only Internet access but also copying, printing, faxing and design services. Internet service is $8 for a half-hour and $12 for an hour. Off the Strip, FedEx Kinko's centers offer Web access for $12 an hour. The closest branches are on Paradise Road, next to Gordon Biersch and across from UNLV on Maryland Parkway. Of course, free Web access is provided at local libraries, but you'll have to wait in line. The closest library to the Strip is at Maryland and Flamingo and can be reached by phone at (702) 733-7810.

I think every major hotel in the US has high speed internet available now.

I'm at the Luxor right now. They have a high-speed box with an RJ-45 cable behind the TV. But no Wi-fi.

It's $9.95 for 24 hours. Half the time I try to get on I get a Luxor page that pops up saying "Network Error: Try again in 3-5 minutes". But it eventually works.

Wi-Fi would be great, but this will do.

I plugged my laptop in and it works fine. Been using it off and on for 2 days now.

Mine has worked fine too ever since I made the post. But it was a problem on their end because the page even had a Luxor logo.
