From fundraising efforts around Australia so far, over $100 Million has been collected and that is set to skyrocket with the massive cricket match and other charity events occuring in the coming weeks.Comment

Well, the whole thing is getting ridiculous. I'm in Australia at the moment, and it really seems to me as though Australia is competing with places like the U.K. to see who can donate more money. All I see on the news is 'Australia is in the top ten countries for donations' and blah blah...
I know people are helping out... but fucking media.... they trivialize everything.
Plus, did anyone see the exclamation mark they put on the news? they kept writing it: "Tsunami!" which seems to be very fuckin crass imho...Comment

You have the exact details of Michael Schumacer's financial history? Do you have any real idea of what he does with his money? I'm sure he wouldnt donate on such a large scale on other occasions but I have absolutely no doubt a lot of his income would go to charities. Why do some people who make anonymous donations later mention the fact that they made anonymous donations? It's especially amusing when they point out they weren't looking for any kudos. I think if a famous person donates a large amount of money, it should be made public and get coverage. It might inspire other folks in a similar financial position to do the same.
