They have been doing that for a while now over here. The thing is that he can really sing and I love his Bad Company stuff. The other fact is that Queen can still play. However, it isn't Queen without Freddie. Enjoyable but only if you pretend it is a tribute act.
Of course nobody can bring Freddie Mercury back on stage; however, I must also say that I like how Paul Rodgers perform. He has his own style and it was never hard for me to appreciate that.

same with INXS. its just not the same without Hutchence. it may be a little furstrating for the rest of the band members when its the lead guy who gets all the credit and gets synonymous with the band name

I've heard one song with the new singer and to me it seems like he's trying to emulate the sound of hutchence, eg slight cultured british accent, a bit nasal on some words...

Not impressed so far
Well, probably an Australian accent but yeah. I can't think of listening to Inxs with a new singer.
One of the few bands outside of metal (where it has happened all the time) to change lead singers and survive was Genesis and then they band changed style and the new singer was already in the band.
