All this bullshit about money is irrelevant since even days after this disaster hit, it is still not know what the extent is. It is therefore meaningless to even talk money, just to let it be known that backing is there is enough.

All the infantile kid bullshit boasting and whining about *any* country is pathetic, since they too, still have no clue and any figures mentioned are simply gestures and will change as needed to meet the occasion.

Right now... there are people on the ground and they are the most relevant and may save a number of lives. Several international orgs plus Israel, France and now seems Germany were the first to have operational teams there treating/rescuing folks - that is what matters more than any money counties "pledge", - at least at the initial stages after this tragedy.

Banal self-centered threads like this make ya want to throw up..
Money matters more than you and several others I've seen posting give it credit. Money will be used to support those teams that are in there helping. Money will buy supplies. Money will pay for water purification units. Money will pay for food. Money will pay for the gas needed to ship in more supplies and relief.

Sure somebody can donate a team of people to go in their and help. But that team is pretty restricted if they don't have the tools and supplies they need. Those tools and supplies need to be purchased somehow... with MONEY. The money is also very important for the rebuilding and other huge projects the victimized countries will undergo over the next several months and even years.

The combination of money AND help in the form of manual labor and special skilled labor is what is really needed. And that's what they're getting. Saying one is more important than the other is just plain retarded.

          Correct... and agree!

At this moment, orgs are not saying they is a shortage of money - this was already in the pot. The main concern is logistical, getting medicines, water units there and also feet on the ground. It looks like some of this is still 4 and 5 days away, - even to reach the areas cut off.

I suppose the most that can be done from outside is pledge whatever at this time and gather further support teams and it's good to see almost all nations contributing to this. Tho agree.. there is going to be one massive amount of funding required fairly quickly for major stuff and bet this far exceeds all funds pledged by all nations up to this point.

its not like that mate, and don't forget that the rich countries always exploit the poor ones of raw resources or anything of the sort..

I would understand what you mean if we are talking about illegal immigrants, and we have to pay for their benefits etc. But this is something completely different.

Still $350 is a lot of money! Well done for that! oh yeah, and don't tell canadians

When it is all said and done, the US will have given more privately and from the Government than any one else in the world. As Usual.

We always do. And I am willing to bet it will be closer to a Billion. We already have a Carrier Group headed there with supplies and doctors.

If we don't donate the most we have to take shit from eurofags.
