I know of many guys who try very hard to get onto google.com but fail to get listed. I have made no effort to get listed but got onto it anyway?

I run webmasters.za.net(a free online traffic script for webmasters) and I am wondering if the thousands upon thousands of hits my site gets daily has anything to do with my site getting listed and how exactly does these search bots work?
