why the mid-east will always be crap

The radical Ansar al-Sunnah Army and two other groups warned democracy was un-Islamic and could lead to the passing of laws such as permitting homosexual marriage.

"Democracy is a Greek word meaning the rule of the people, which means that the people do what they see fit. This concept is considered apostasy and defies the belief in one God - Muslims' doctrine," they said.

I think the bigger problems is the sheer number of different tribes vying for control in the area. Each group has their own ways of interpreting the quran that is weaved in their traditions and supported by tribal leaders.

Hence, each group thinks their version of islam is the correct one and should be followed by all, which will never happen. Just like the liberals and conservatives will never see eye to eye.

There is a serious disconnect between the people and these talking-head pontificators who try to speak for everyone and back up their bullshit with the barrel of the gun pointed at the people's heads. You would think all Iranians must be lunatics when the clerics decide they must "off" Rushdie because he dare say what's on his mind in a book, but it wasn't the people deciding that and they are kept in line with the barrel of those guns.

lets not kid around here, bin salami and el queso dia are only after the oil money. the arabs are all pissed becaue thier own gov took every penny that came into the country and somehow blamed us for all thier problems. 100000 gazillion dollars have went to the mid east in the last 60 years and those assholes are all starving, living in slums and leaving the area like rats off a sinking ship. the prblem being they want to start the same shitty life style where they end up. just ask the dutch or the french
