i agree, text is 100x better. you dont have to drop everything to talk to them. you can wait a few minutes if you want to. it kind of backfires when you text people and instead of texting you back they just call you.

If I don't know the number, I generally don't answer it. I prefer people to send me an SMS or email to my cell instead half the times since the volume on my cell isn't that great.

A phone has two functions to Make calls and to Receive calls... nothing says you have to use it for both. I like to be able to make a call from anywhere, I don't necessary need to receive them.

I have 2 cell phones. One for business and one for personal use. If I answered my business cell phone everytime, I'd be doing nothing but sitting on the phone all day long. I found the same problem with ICQ. The minute you go on everybody wants to talk. I love talking but it kills your time productivity.

I answer my cellphone, but sometimes I simply put it somwhere in the house and totally forget about it, so I return calls like a day or two later.

That's why I have a house phone so that the people that really need to talk to me can call ;)

I hate that modern technology means you are never allowed to be uncontactable. There is some value in escaping everyone for an hour or so. It all started with the answering machine that taught us that just because a phone rings it has to be answered.
