I've been... you won't get 100% models but sure - lots of hotties around. The overall ugliness factor is surely less than in your average north american city, and women dress much better.

Crime is rampant, especially corruption, with much economic activity controlled by m a f i a clans based in industrial centers such as Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and the cities of Crimea. The influence of organized crime often reaches into the highest levels of government.
Try not to publicize the fact that you're a foreigner - by clothing or otherwise. With the exception of Kiev, Odesa and a few other large cities, foreign tourists are quite rare. You may get robbed. )
And the list can go on and on ... Avoid that country!
fuck girls like that walk around the corn fields here in the Midwest
Uh-huh.
Maybe you have some pics?
As for crime in Ukraine, I'm a foreigner who speaks very little Russian and I was there over 2 weeks without an problems. That doesn't mean you won't, but I was not worried at any time.
I just used common sense. I had an apartment and when the door rang a few times with a stranger (once a military guy), I just ignored it. I would suggest you do the same if the situation arises.
Stay away from the many casinos in the main city and be careful with cabs - they aren't metered so if the guy knows you're foreign, he'll overcharge you. Helps if you know someone local when you travel.
Oh, and people generally aren't very friendly, that's true. My gf told me they are always "looking for conflict", but I just noticed that, for example, in stores you have to be assertive. Don't expect a smile and "how are you today?"
If you get the chance, travel into the country where you can see some of the most amazes castles and old buildings anywhere. Kiev is where I spent most of my time and it was incredible, but there is so much more. Of course, the Crimea is the popular summer destination but do a little research and you'll find plenty of worthwhile places to visit.
