Need an excuse
If you want an excuse that may work, tell them that you only shoot "tested" models, meaning they have to get an AIM test which costs up to and over 200.00. You have to prepay the test at AIM with a credit card (which most of these guys don't have), then find a draw station, then wait for the results.
