    My ex husband decided not to pay for his car anymore...

    So they're coming after me! I told them no way in hell I'm paying over 600 a month for the car I have, I'm not paying his too! But they said regardless of what my court papers say, I'm just as much responsible...

    And get this... he's been over 30 days late 22 times since I moved out over 3 years ago. And over 60 days late 2 times. Now he's over 90... wtf do I do??

                                      get a lawyer take yourself off as a cosigner and use LLF to repair any errors you might have on your report because of him.

                                                                          Went through a similar situation, except they came after me after they repossessed it. (I still wonder to this day why they never found a way to get a hold of me until after it was repossessed and auctioned )

                                                                          If I would have known I would have taken the car myself then continued the payments or sold it. I just got stuck with a 8k bill and no car to show for it.

                                                                          At any rate, I suggest you do what is best for you. If your name is on the contract and you want to maintain decent credit....

                                                                          Oh, and ask your lawyer

                                                                                      My decree says my ex was supposed to pay all the bills that were in both our names. He didn't. They came after me. My attorney told me I was responsible for them. I didn't believe him, went to court and lost.

                                                                                      I can take him BACK to court to the get the money I had to pay, but the divorce decree is between the two of us, not him and the bill collectors. Probably the same with RRRED. And yes, it also destroyed my credit.

                                                                                      It will be very difficult, if not impossible for her to get off the loan w/o him refinancing it - and you can bet he's not going to be keen on THAT.

                                                                                      RRRED, contact your attorney and see if you can sell the car.

This is one of the unfortunate sides of mingling your finances when you get married to someone, and something most couples are too stupid in love to even think about.

                                                                                                  When you get married you're forming a legal partnership. Choose your partners wisely my friends, one fuckup can fuck you up royally.

                                                                                                  I fucked up once in my 20's when a girl I was just living with I ordered my AMEX card with her name on it. Big mistake. When we broke up she went to town on it to the tune of $60,000. I got the bill and was livid cause she had told me she had ripped up my card and would no longer charge on it after we ended after relationship. I called AMEX and complained like crazy that non of these purchases were authorized by me and that she had told me the card had been destroyed and I had no way of knowing she was doing this till the statement came. I went all the way up the supervisor ladder and stood firm refusing to accept her charges and they ended up cancelling my account I'm sure cause I got a bit caustic with this one woman on the phone and even when I caved in and said fine whatever I'll pay her charges, just reinstate my card they refused to. So look at that. Not even married and I got fucked cause of this sneaky girl.

                                                                                                          I forgot....something you can do is write a letter to the credit bureau explaining the situation, that it was him who refused to pay in a timely manner AFTER you were divorced.

                                                                                                          The blemish will still be on your credit and affect your score, but lenders will look at that and still consider you a good risk for credit. (Assuming all your other accounts are in order)
