Just curious to see if anybody has tried magazine ads to promote adult content, and if so, how did it go?

Best used for release of a new great item/product/place, not as a method of raw profit. The prices are high and the returns are low.

We post phone sex ads in Hustler, Penthouse and about 20 other adult rags as well as newspapers. Costs are from $1k - $10K / month. For phone sex, long-term it's worth it ... some of these guys spend literally thousands a week.
For adult web sites? I'd seriously doubt it would work in the generic mags like PH, Playboy, etc. For highly-targeted niche magazines I'd think it would work assuming the ad rates were considerably less.Comment
