                        Since a few of you seem to know a lot about whats going on out there.. I'm trying to find someone as well..

                        A good friend of mine went home to visit her family in Georgetown Penang, Malaysia.. Apparently it is an island off the coast. I found one report that said it got hit, but does anyone know how bad?

                        Also, if anyone can suggest a way that I could try to find her I would really appreciate it.

                                                                Just got out of bed, didn't get much sleep. Didn't get any news yet, i got help from a gfy member who knows someone upthere, i got contact info and i tend to go upthere if i didn't get any news by this time tomorrow. GFY has been a great help in this matter and i would like to thank everybody uphere for the support and help. I know this sounds corny but it touches me how people you have never seen try their best to help out. I am still in believe they survived and that they just have no way to contact me due to lack of communication infrastructure working right now.
                                                                Anyhow, i'll keep you all posted, that's the least i can do for the people that helped out.

                                                                    I've had a phone call with someone in Penang, a contact from a gfy member. Penang doesn't seem to be hit very hard, i hope this helps.

At this point they are still in the process of getting everything ready to get the tourists out of the resort, either replace them or bring them back but they had no word on my parents although they assured me they didn't have any casualtie reports of people who used that travel agency.

                                                                                    Just recieved a phonecall from somebody talking (bad) english saying "i got a christmass present for you" and he passed on my mom.

                                                                                    Both are ok, my mother was in her room when shit happened but my father wasn't, it took 16 hours for them to find eachother back. But both are ok and in good health.
                                                                                    They are gonna stay in a bedroom from a resident couple they got to know upthere, they don't have all their clothes and stuff anymore but still have all papers and money and bankcards.

                                                                                    God bless gfy members for being so helpfull, i owe you all, BIGTIME.

                                                                                    I can honestly say this is the best day of my life.
