Population is main factor. For example.....China has 200,000+ amateur weightlifters trying to become professionals. Only few of them make it to pro level and aside the small weight categories they fail miserable; still they rank for medals in good levels for weightlifting level since small categories are a dozen. If they weren't 1bil population this country wouldn't be anywhere at that rank.Comment
