This is the third day I have been using Ultram and it seems to be more effective now. I am taking one 50MG every four hours and the pain level, though still higher than on my normal days, is bearable. I guess it just took some time to build up in my system. It is not pleasant to be this uncomfortable. I am hoping it will soon run its course and I can go back to my normal pain level. I did get a few more hours of sleep today, before the pain woke me up again.When you're running down my country hoss...you're walking on the fighting side of me!

The doctor gave me a new drug called VIOXX (rofecoxib, MSD).
One tablet per 24 hrs... non steriodial anti-inflammatory...COX-2 blocker and doesnt affect the COX-1 enzyme so doesnt cause stomach problems
This is the best pain killer i have ever had... i used to get bad back and not be able to move for a day or two.... with 40mins of taking VIOXX pain dimished to next to nothing and within 2 days my back was fineComment

I cannot sit for more than a couple of hours...or stand for more than a couple of hours...or lie down for more than a couple of hours...or sleep for more than a couple hours...and can only walk short distances before having to take a break. I have a standing order for Vicodin and Morphine patches but I use both very sparingly. In addition I have been told not to kill all of the pain as I need to beware of my movements or I could become paralyzed. The VA put me through school to endure pain...more than once.

I keep a supply of Naproxin 750 mg (24 hr slow-release) pills. They're the same ones that were prescribed to my brother years ago when he suffered upper spinal and neck vertebral fractures and had to have a spinal fusion done. I too had a spinal fusion done when I was 16, my upper and lower back is now shot. Especially my lower back.
