    2HousePlague, you performed a miracle!

After spending way too long sitting in an awkward position while responding to your string theory thread, I tried standing up and found out I am suddenly able to walk again and, even better, the pain is way less than it was before!

It's almost enough to make me religious

You should look into doing pilates. I used to have lower back problems. Took a fe pilates classes and started exercising the transversus abdominus (this is the muscle that's pretty much central to all pilates exercises) at home. You don't even need to do anything to exercise it. Simply engaging it and holding it for a while each day is enough to strengthen it. I haven't had any back problem since. Definitely worth your time to get some one on one with a pilates instructor.

I should definitely start exercising regularly again. I think I'll take up yoga, too.
