When are the .EU gunna be settled? i have some good ones

I am going through the forms with regard to submitting the trademark stuff in case of a dispute. I havent read it in depth yet but I am getting a solicitor to look over it tomorrow.

all you probably have done is give money to some registrar who was very happy to take it but most likely wont be able to offer you the service you want namely registering a dot eu

like when will we know who owns what... and when will the lawsuits start?

there will no lawsuits as eurid.org is very carefull to avoid that

all people that are appointed domains who consist of trademarks or company names have prior rights

those prior right registrations began I think december of last year

thus all people with prior rights will have their domain before the free for all period starts april 7

Phased Registration
.eu registration will start with a two-part Sunrise Period. The Sunrise Period allows only the holders of prior rights to apply for their domain names. The first part of the Sunrise Period, Sunrise Period I, starts on December 7, 2005. Sunrise Period II begins on February 7, 2006. Finally, on April 7, 2006, .eu domains will be offered for general registration.
Sunrise Periods I and II
If you are the holder of prior rights to a name, then you can register your domain in that name with us during the Sunrise Period. The following additional information must be filled out along with the usual customer data (address, phone number, etc.) at the time you order a domain:
? Prior rights type (see list below) e.g. "Company Name"
? The exact name as it appears on the document e.g. "Miller & Smith"
? The country the name is protected in e.g. "England"
? The language of the supporting document e.g. "English"
Prior Rights and Documentary Evidence
The correct registration period will be selected for you, automatically, based on your type of right. The following types of documented prior rights can be used to apply for a domain name during the Sunrise Period:
Sunrise Period I
? Public institutions - The name of a community or public institution or its acronym, for example, nhs.eu.
EURid Code: PUBLICBODY
? Registered national trademarks - Brand names that are registered in at least one EU-member country and with a registered trademark.
EURid Code: REG-TM-NAT
? Registered EU-community or international trademarks - Registered in at least one EU-member country.
EURid Code: REG-TM-COM-INTL
? Geographical indications - Geographic locations that are not brand names but are protected by rights.

? Company names, business identifiers, trade names

You must be able to provide documentary evidence to prove that you have a prior right to a name, for example, a copy of your official trademark registration documents. Here are the exact and binding details of which documents you will need:

WARNING! Do not send your documents to us or to EURid! All documents must be sent directly to an address, which will be given to you later in the registration process.
The prior right must be in effect already at the time of registration to be accepted. Pending registrations will not be accepted.
Regardless of how many different rights you have for a name, only one can be used for your application.
During each phase, domain names will be registered in a first come, first served basis. If EURid receives more than one application for a domain name, the claims will be processed in the order they were received. If the first claim is accepted, any claims submitted thereafter will no longer be processed. Once a domain application is being processed, it does not matter which prior right would normally be considered "better" or "more important". For example, if the domain has already been registered to another company with the same name, no consideration will be given to another company's application, even if it is more widely known. Only, if the first application is denied, then the second application will be processed.

Valid Domain Names
During the Sunrise Period, you can register for the exact name as it appears in the rights document. Please take into account the following rules:
? The company extension can be omitted.
? Spaces can be substituted with hyphens or omitted.
? Umlauts ä, ö, ü can be substituted with a, o, u or with ae, oe, ue.
? Special characters, for example, & @ " ' ( § ! Ç à ) [ ] . / ; , ? = + %, can be written out, omitted, or replaced with a hyphen.
? Names that use non-Latin characters (e.g. Greek) can be transcribed using standard equivalents, but only when the characters are in an officially used EU language.

Application Process Overview
Step 1 - Order Your Desired Domain with 1&1
Please note: You cannot make any changes to the application, once the Sunrise Period has begun.
All applications received during the pre-registration period will be submitted to EURid as soon as the appropriate Sunrise Period begins. Any applications we receive after the period has begun, will be submitted immediately.
Step 2 - Receive an Important E-mail
EURid will send you an e-mail confirming the receipt of your application and stating in which order your application was received. It will also give you the link to a website with the mandatory information forms that you need as well.
WARNING! It is very important that this e-mail reaches you. Make sure to provide a valid, fully functioning e-mail address when applying. Currently, the address the e-mail will be sent from is not known. Therefore, avoid using an e-mail address that has a spam filter which would automatically erase an e-mail from an unknown address.
Step 3 - Complete the Forms
Fill in the forms on the website. EURid website will generate a cover letter for you to print out.
Step 4 - Submit Your Supporting Documents
Sign the cover letter and send it together with the documentary evidence to the given address.
WARNING! Do not send your documents to us or to EURid! All documents must be sent directly to the address found on the cover letter.
WARNING! Your documents must fully prove your prior rights AND have to meet the following format requirements.
All information on your cover letter (e.g. document language, number of pages) must match exactly. The following rules apply:
? Only one application per envelope
? Paper format DIN A4 (29.7 cm x 21 cm) or letter (27.94 cm x 21,59 cm)
? Document must be printed on opaque white paper
? Paper must be printed on one side only
? Pages (with the exception of the cover letter) will be sequentially numbered starting with 1
? Document must be humanly readable when scanned
? No re-touching or otherwise modified documents
? Pages may not be folded, stapled, glued, or attached together with any other method
You have 40-days time once your application is received to send in your supporting documents. The exact date can be found in the e-mail you received from EURid.
Step 5 - You Can Check the Status of Your Application Online
EURid will set up a WHOIS website for the Sunrise Period. The WHOIS will let you see the following information about the applications: how many were received for a domain name, in which order they were received, which are already being processed, and which have already been registered or denied. This will be the only source of information for the status of .eu domain registration during the Sunrise Period.
