Typically I have never seen cage free hen eggs ever in a supermarket either, just at farmers markets and even then they still are basicly caged animals. It would be very damn hard to try to have open range chickens laying eggs where ever they desired.

You know what it means without getting into all of that. I'm sure caged means little ass cages just big enough for a chicken where open range is a big ass cage on an entire property.
