Which should I buy Xbox or PS2?

Which one? Im going out today to get one for myself as an xmas present to myself, I just dont know which... (mostly because of the games)

What games would you recommend for each? and which platform, and why?

Is best buy open today?

I have both and just play my ps2. I just don't like the xbox controllers, just too odd for me. Some people say xbox has better graphics, but I really can't tell. Most sports games come out for each console and Xbox was lacking in other games but has caught up a bit. You can't go wrong with the ps2, but you might not like xbox controllers/feel.

i have both. don't play either. bought the PS2 for the sports games. won the xbox in some contest. not sure if it is still the same case, but PS2 was known for better sports games, and xbox was better for action/adventure games.

I just bought PS2(slim) after long comparison between PS2 and XBOX, Dunno, both are sure good for playing. Bought CMRally 5 with it and it rocks!

I want an Xbox, I hardly use my PS2, I'll trade anyone my ps2 with 2 controlers and memery card for their Xbox and single controler.

Maybe its cause I just really really like playing Halo 2 though...??

Definately PS2. The games are geared for an older audience and everything is revese compatible. I kove being able to play the odd old favorite PS1 game and that the PS1 memory cards with all my saved games work. Don't forget to get a mod chip for your unit, well worth it.

Yes Halo2 does look damn cool.

How did u get your PS1 memory cards work in PS2? My PS2 (the new slim version) does not accept PS1 8MBcard.

Get a modded Xbox. It's worth it just for the emulators. I've got over 1000 old arcade and console games on my hard drive now.

If you're not that old then maybe you won't appreciate the nostalgia aspect. But it's still good if you're the type that likes to get your games for free.

I have both and I seriously NEVER use my XBOX.. its all about san andreas and the PS2. I think what DigiPimp said was true, hardcore video game nerds love XBOX.. but for me, all I need is my PS2.

You can pick up good deals on both used at places like EB Games... www.EBGames.com I don't know what you have in your area... I have both PS2 and XBOX. I prefer XBOX, but PS2 is good for kids. My son has a better variety of games on the PS2. The XBOX has awesome Mature games and better graphics.
