Last time I was in Vegas, I was able to pay for my trip, my booze, meals and went home with about 200 bucks in my wallet. Not sure on the overall talley, but I'd say in the 8-1k range of winnings. Coming back from vegas with money in your wallet, is a win in itself.

That's ridiculous. Anyone who receives a Royal Flush - Anywhere, any machine, any table, should receive $50,000+. Royal flush is a rarity in cards, that is like 1:800,000. I was in the Bahamas for opening weekend of Atlantis - lost $4k the first night, wanted to jump off the roof, took my remaining $1k the next night and turned it into $55k but drank three bottles of Crystal in the process (ack!) and ended up walking away with $28k (minus the $485*3+tip).
The reason I knew it was $55k was because I vaguely remember asking the dealer to count my chips because I was too drunk to do it myself. It's never very good when people standing behind you watching you play have to help keep you upright. =)
I'm really wishing I would have taken the check they wanted to give me instead of the cash - I felt like a drug dealer declaring the more than $10k in cash, and I hated having to fill out the IRS form. (sigh)
On the bright side, I still get invites for 5-7 day comp'ed vacations.. ha ha haComment
