    Confederate flag prom dress lawsuit

    A teenager is suing her school district for barring her from the prom last spring because she was wearing a dress styled as a large Confederate battle flag.
    4 years to make that dress? LOL, you have to check out how ugly it is

                                  Over the summer I spent some time in the south, and it was explained to me that the Confederate flag represents different things to different people.

                                  Many that I spoke with did not associate it as an image of slavery. Instead, many, as did this girl, believe that it's a representation of their heritage and culture. A symbolism of where they, and their family, came from.

                                  To a certain extent I guess I can agree with them. The Civil War was fought over more than just slavery, much of it had to do with the fact that the Southern states felt they were unrepresented. Isn't that after all why we succeeded from Great Britain?

                                  It's the whole "taxation without representation" debacle.

They aren't used to thinking for themselves or actually basing judgements on rational facts. They make quick accusations about people being 'hicks' or 'rednecks' to rationalise their arguement that noone should really give a fuck about this girl. Makes life a hell of a lot easier no?
