Some people were fucking with it, and it caused the whole board to be very slow .

Like 2 months ago lensman said he hired a top elite programmer to fix it ... nothing so far thought

nah there is more to it than that, im sure.

if it were a matter of abuse, they can just add one of those word images and make us type it in before we can search.

and im guessing had he hired someone, the job would have been done in a matter of days, IF that long.

I dont doubt he/they have tjeir reasons to leave it down, i just wish it made sense. The search feature on this particular board is very critical to business for some people.

and if its a matter of money or expenses, shit just throw up an anual membership fee, im in ...

How do you stop users from running bots that auto search and use a lot of server ressource ?

i mean to look up reputations of companies, or people, to look up old threads so you dont ask the same thing, to look up tips on projects so you dont ask same stuff, etc.

this board is priceless with an active search.

It has been down for a length of time that leads me to beleive it is not coming back, im just wondering what the reasoning is and if there is anything we as members can do to help.
