Canadian legalities

I am starting an adult video production company in Saskatchewan, Canada and was concerned about the legalities involved in producing this genre of film. If the members on this board could give me as much information as possible I would be very greatful.

Like most areas it is fine as long as you have documentation of ages and follow the local rules. For example, in Alberta peeing is fine but not in BC. Most government information for Canada is online so you can check for the guidelines but you should talk to some sort of legal reprosenative.

HMMM??? In BC peeing is not legal?? I do believe that is where SEG was on trial for indecency and they won. So I do believe that it is legal. I am sure everybody here has there best intentions. The best advice is to talk to lawyer. However remember this Porn is legal in Canada. You might need permits, and you will have to follow the community decensy guide which is what this guy was talking about. I do believe where you are would constitute the bible belt, so my only piece of advice would be to move to Vancouver or Montreal. Exit from Eden was not banned here for christ's sake! I am afraid to say I saw that shitty film in the theater myself.

If this guy were serious at all about his business he would find an attorney "with a clue" and hire him/her, and most likely find one who specializes in the field, not asking for legal advice from a bunch of strangers on a message board called GO FUCK YOURSELF.com for his so-called "business".

I am confident most content producers would not even think of going into this business without a more than competent attorney overlooking things, much less a full-scale "adult video production company".

My understanding is that the 'Community of Canada' is used for determining issues related to 'obscenity', criminal acts involving sexuality.

Unlike in the US where each state determines what is 'obscene' or not, Canada has a federal standard and the recent SEG case was a huge milestone in extending liberties relating to more extreme forms of adult entertainment.
