If you want to replace your engine every 80,000 miles, go with the RX7. The RX7's rotary engine generally likes to be bulletproofed before you do any kind of mods to it. 3mm apex seals = lots of boost
if the rx7 was the older body style (longer front end, bolder rear end, and it didnt look like a womans car) i would say get that shit - rotary engines make a bunch of difference. However, in this case, i would say the 300zx. the twin turbo is sure to floor you into the seat as soon as the vac kicks in, and it wouldnt take a whole lot to make it a solid ten second car (its already almost there). Also, the rotary engines on the rx7's are a bitch to work on. Unless you know a specialist or have dealership access, it costs an arm and a leg to get them bitches worked on, and half the time the work isn't done right (as in being worked on in a local auto shop). If you like to work on your own cars, you'd need some schooling for the wankel rotary combustion engine - just a heads up.
