              From what I heard, the original ones could not have their batteries replaced, seems like they fixed that on the new ones
              .

                  This was done several years ago for generation 1 Ipods. they are on generation 5 now I think. Ipod completely changed their battery replacement policy and the battery itself. This is old news and is not relevent any longer.

                      Yup, really old news. Just do a search on google and you'll find a ton of sites explaing how to replace the battery yourself and sites that sell replacement batteries.
