First Aly congrats on AVN I know you will do greats things there. Secondly the only people that want .xxx are the big players not because they care about kids its because they figure it will push out the little guy but they dont think . A writing campaign got Bill Maher off the air at ABC. You dont think a christian right letter campaign to AOL ,EarthLink to block the .xxx wont happen. Your kidding me right. lol Then some right wing senator seeking reelection pushes for a law to block .xxx in the USA and the its not fair rule doesnt work for these things. Whatever problems it may have, it is hard to find fault with an organization dedicated to eliminating child pornography. That's why I will always support ASACP. And if somebody (like Steve Lightspeed) would like to start another organization with the same goals, I will probably support them too. But of course it is best if we all work together.

I am not on the Board, not a big player but a long term supporter of ASACP not because they are perfect, no organization is, but because they are trying to do the right thing.

We pay annual dues and feel it is a trivial investment in the industry as a whole.

Aly I confess to worshipping you, I consider Joan an asset to the industry and we will continue to support ASACP.

Oh and yes if I was needed and could offer something of value I would join the board of ASACP.

Okay, here goes a few random thoughts on the various parts of this thread (a rare decently thoughtful thread for GFY, I might add).

First off, Gary put himself in an untenable position, and like all "political" offices, it isn't impropreity, just the appearance thereof that is enough to cost someone their position. For a board member and leader of ASACP to label legal porn as CP in any manner, even in passing, lowers the value of the organization for everyone. Gary's personal opinions of lightspeed and their models is totally Gary's issue. Gary has, IMHO, shown some very poor judgement in this matter.

As for Aly, well, she isn't in any way involved in this, ASACP rules forbid there from being more than one person per oganization, and AVN already is represented. Her stepping down only occured at the same meeting as a matter of record, not as a matter of Gary's situation.

Now, as for ASACP in general. It's a noble idea, with noble goals.

That being said, ASACP should have no position on anything outside of CP. The .XXX discussion has nothing to do with CP, and as such, the organization should have stayed out of it. I feel that there is some major money using the ASACP as a front to voice their personal opinions. .XXX has nothing to do with CP. ASACP, stay out of it.

ASACP should have one goal, one goal only, and that is to report and work to remove CP from the net. Everything else is political reaching and grandstanding, and it takes away from the basic and noble goal of the organization. If you want an organization to promote the adult industry in general, form one. Don't corrupt something that could be so good and so useful.

Fuck it I say. ASACP sucks at what they do, you send them a clear link with child porn on it and they will tell you there is no problems with it because they are too lazy to click a link. Could be just me but I don't think its worth balls.

"Acceptable practices" according to whom? Who sets the guidelines of what is and what isn't acceptable? You surely aren't saying that he is not responsible and does not have a responsible adult online business? I don't want to put words in your mouth but with this statement this is how I read it. Because we all know that he's been wanting and trying to donate money to ASACP for years but has been denied.

On a side note*

Things are obviously going to spiral out of control, however, when there is a commitee of your peers, shit like this should not happen. If there is a hidden agenda then SHAME on whomever they are!! There'a TON of sick shit in this industry and people tolerate it to a certain degree (most degrees if they are making money from it and fuck you (whoever you are) if you say that you don't!

However, when you are defending the rights of children, mistakes conscious or not like this should never happen. We all know that there has been issues with LS and ASACP forever, but who is anyone to judge and turn away legit funds for a legit program for a legit cause if it is just that "legit"? I would like to know what set of guidelines they are going by and who sets them! I have always been curious, but now I would like an answer, a solid one.

One of the best lines that I read this evening came from Brad/Phoenix "Power corrupts, but absolute power corrupts absolutely." It makes me sick to my stomach to think that someone/people/commitee/whomever, would use this (cp)fight in such a reprehensible manner (if indeed someone (or persons) personal agenda got in the way of the true fight)!

This is getting tiring, I just had to speak my mind about this whole thing, my concern is that ASACP should be an unbiased organization! And that it continues to fight for children.
