You need to consider whether the productivity increase (if any
) will compensate for the rental and the need to purchase or lease equipment, furniture etc.
I've thought about an office but since I have no clients (and thus don't need consistent contact or business hours) I can work at any time. I think I'd have problems getting the motivation to arrive there half the time, plus I can't exactly leave my family when I feel like working at 2am...
