PHP 4 to 5 and vBulletin

I wonder about vBulletin installation and I consider PHP and MySQL upgrade since vBulletin requires PHP 5.2+. I need some opinions... Will all scripts work after I upgrade PHP 4 to 5 as before? And will the performance stay the same? BTW is vBulletin really the best? I have some doubts when I see gfy database breaking so frequently... what about phpbb3 or SMF? That scripts are free and widely used too..

vBulletin is the best I've dealt with, and your scripts should work if not you can install both php 4 and php 5.

I had no problems using PHP4 so far... but it looks like more and more scripts require PHP5+ now, even some WordPress templates and plugins won't run on PHP4.

Damn, after the upgrade it looks like PHP 4 and 5 are not that much compatible and I've got a mess. I will have to find other solution. I wish I know PHP language better but it's hard to find the time for everything.

PHP is so easy to install and upgrade, especially what it use to be.

Or maybe it's the fault of mySQL which was also upgraded... e.g. I've got problems with foreign languages displaying, some wordpress posts are showing only titles (weird, because for every post I use exactly the same html template as well the same plugins are on, and the same options used) other scripts wont load at all... too many things for my little head...

damn it's 4 am now and I need some sleep lol
