I happen to be on IE right now and i have iespell installed ...it's free and spell checks anything in an IE window .. it is using the IESPELL but now has a built in button above the smiles that links to it.
Install http://www.iespell.com/download.php and i bet it will show up .... new GFY must pick up installs like that and add them
for me the ABC is right above the Smiles box ..
