I still am truly amazed every time I see your pictures... one day I hope to be able to get the clarity, detail and amazing quality that you are able to produce every single time.

Old coal powerstation.
Comissioned 1973, decomissioned 2002.
Demolition started May 2005 through to June 2006.
40m high (~125ft) boilers.
139m high (~325ft [?]) stacks.
Awesome place. The cooling towers are totally wooden, and house a family of cats..
There are generators lying askew, their carapaces removed or dismantled.
Most of it is still lit by struggling fluros, and wires dangle around every corner. From the roof, you can see the old cooling lake, now half-dry, and another smaller station, and a steaming gas plant across another lake....
now if you take requests... may i suggest abandoned stores/houses
just an idea.... would be cool as hell
Sure ;)
Houses are kinda hard.. too small for me to get excited ;)
I'll keep my eye out for you though. Might even have a few in my 'personal' collection :D

That is really amazing. Totally unique. I love the mild fisheye effect, seems perfect for that location.
The really phenomenal thing about this work is that if I would have walked in, I probably never would have thought it would have made such great photography.
Very nice.

You should go to Detroit or Russia for more wicked photoshots :p
Oh I'm working on Russia. Also working on not getting myself killed whilst in Russia. :|
As for just industrial shots - mainly, as it's what really excites me. That said and done, I've got a bunch of Paris catacombs, a few church / travel / castle photos as well. Basically I just snap what I know I can take a good photo out of :D
Like always, awesome stuff. Do you carry along lighting equipment?
Usually the only lighting I'll carry is two flashes, which I'll use to paint if it's pitch black.
Most of the times, and especially in this scenario.. you don't have the time or space to lug and setup gear. Most of the challenge is to make do w/ available light.. and I like that - the lastshot is 8 minutes long, hence the star trails

That's cool..I remember those pics you posted the last time around, in the tunnel or what ever it was.. You had some little buckets with lights in them. So it had me thinking maybe you used some back up lighting.
Damn 8 mins for that one shot?
In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.
Damnit i'm about ready to chip in for a ticket for you to come to NYC and hang out with me and Julia of DarkPassage man!
Ah man.. I was going to send you a link to the thread
I'm planning on heading over hopefully this year. I'm heading up through Hong Kong, Japan, then hopefully bouncing to the states thereafter. With a bit of luck, I'll hit up NY. So much to explore, so little time.
Have you seen the abandoned theme parks & 'gunship island' from Japan?

Nope, but there are plenty of abandoned themeparks in New Jersey!
