How come google has more PR than Yahoo Mail?

    How come google has more PR than Yahoo Mail?

    I was going to check my yahoo email when I noticed that the http://mail.yahoo.com page has only a PR8, while google.com has PR10
    How is that possible? Are more people hitting google than checking their emails on Yahoo?
    It seems a little tooooo bias to me.

                  you have a point.. most likely google has more link popularity, but isn't PR also based on page importance, such as how many people hit it every day?

                                  http://mail.yahoo.com/ has 186,000 backlinks
                                  http://www.google.com/ has 2,790,000 backlinks

                                  So Google should have the higher PR.
