ICRA-Wouldn't it be good
Does anyone else see the benefits of all adult internet sites implementing ICRA labeling prior to a govt. mandate to do so?
I watched the congressional hearings yesterday and once again the govt. has no clue. Of course I think the heart of the hearings are a way for govt. to once again use protection of children to eliminate pornography, but I don't understand why the adult industry as a whole is not being more proactive.
Don't you think that if the adult industry were to collectively label their sites with some type of content rating system that could then be easily filtered, then the problem would then fall on the shoulders of the filter providers, parents, and the govt. to educate parents on how to use those filters?
It was good to see Cambria invited to at least represent the adult side for once, although I dont think he was very effective in communicating the fact that the adult industry as a whole is 100% for the protection of children online and offline.
It was very appearant yesterday that the majority of the commitee thinks that adult webmasters are targeting children to buy their material. I think that in itself speaks volumes about the direction they are headed with upcoming legislation...
