What he should have mentioned is that whoever is the registrar for .KIDS would have a review committee that would ensure that the website that owns the .KIDS domain would be screened and validated to be kid friendly.

That this registrar would also monitor the websites to ensure compliance.

This is why a .KIDS domain would cost like $200/year

As a policy, any .KIDS website that snuck in porn, and after a review process, would lose the domain.

.KIDS is the only effective tool that can protect children.

Some will argue that the .KIDS.US extension did some pitiful that there is no support for a .KIDS

.KIDS.US is not a good extension, and it really takes technology companies like Microsoft and AOL to put in a .KIDS filter to make this a reality.

Then ISP will offer proxy services to filter... third party products like zone alarm, norton firewall, etc could put in the white listing filter.

The senator from VA was the most tech savvy, and he said that he would rather see technology solve this problem, not congress.

Self-labelling with ICRA is great, labelling content is great.. but the problem is those that don't take that responsibility causes the problem.

And as a national study found, over 75% of free content porn comes from outside the US.. so any blacklisting filtering like .XXX just won't work...it will be like swiss cheese.

Lobbying MS and AOL is needed!

Fight the .XXX!
I cant believe Cambria didnt say porn site operators dont want kids exposed to their sites and only want adults duh. Also the biggest preditors of children online are in mainstream chatrooms not on porn sites. Fuck this pisses me off.
