Pay the model by hour, not by %. Especially if shes really hot. Just get a contract stating she has to do a shoot every month, week whatever. Als state in the contract that she has to interact with the members (webcam shows, emails, etc). I'd reccomend screening all emails before they get to her though. Girls are gullible and might take off to Brazil to hook up with a billionaire.

Time needed to be spent and costs all depends on how much money you have and how much time you have. Promotion, getting affiliates, etc costs money and takes time. Are you taking the pictures or hiring someone? There's tons of variables in this equation.

As for paying them.. that is up to you and what you can get away with... some pay a small shoot fee and a percentage of sales, or a larger shooting fee and less of a percentage, I had one where it was a straight 50/50 split... no shooting fee..... But make sure they get paid...

And the most important thing... make sure they are dependable... you do not want to put a lot of time, effort and money into a site where the bitch up and quits or will not shoiw up for shoots... YOU MUST UPDATE CONTENT REGULARLY!

I started Sahara Gets Dirty because of our friendship.

She models for nothing and I pay for other models, hosting etc. The deal is 50/50 partnership as we both put in our own work... She gets fucked stupid for the shoots and then I have to do the rest...

Since we started the site she has shot 8 films and has 4 more to do before Xmas which will come out early next year in the UK. To help promote her I'm releasing her first Dvd just with scenes I've shot, so consumers who've seen her scenes on other Dvd's can have one with only her and guests www.ukindianvideos.com has a beta of the cover for this, which I hope to release very early in 2005.

You need to find a model who has that Xtra XXX appeal and is reliable and you will make money...

while having an affiliate program is a great idea and a central part of a single girls site, make sure you don't get sidetracked and concentrate fully on getting affiliates instead of other ways of generating traffic....there are TONS of ways to make GOOD money on single girl sites without affiliates

the one thing I can warn you is, be prepared to work 12-18 hours a day in the first 6 months...and going to sleep thinking about it, and waking up thinking about it...LOL

as far as paying her, you will have to figure that one out...i would do something that states she makes a certain percentage of the site, but you overall own it...and she can get bonuses or something for every shoot she shows up for....

fact is, lots of girls do this shit, but when they aren't millionaires in the first 3 months they disappear, so SHOOT A SHITLOAD UP FRONT...enough to update for 2 years...that way when she flakes out, and she will, you can keep the site going

as for costs, as long as you keep it in house, you can keep your costs down pretty low...i run, design, maintain...pretty much do everything myself, except hosting...and I keep those costs so low...

bottom line:
-learn to do everything yourself so there is more money at the end of the day that you can call your own

-be ready for the model to flake, cause they always do...so shoot tons of content

-once she finally does flake, get ready for her to come to you and say she wants her pics down, or some kind of fight that ends your friendship...it always happens

last single girl site I designed was for Ashley Blue (the porn star)...i got everything done, but she never got me any more content....then disappeared...owing me $2000...now i get an email about 2 weeks ago that she wants all the content masters back that she gave me for the site

Thank you everyone for the advice you have given it has given me a lot of help in deciding how I'm going to handle the site.

I decided that I'm going to pay 50/50 to her and I have a whole list of things to ask her at the meeting tomorrow such as if she can handle a fresh shoot once a week, occasional scheduled webcam shows, and definetly from the advice given see if I can bulk up on content from her the first few sessions incase she decides to bail out.

If anyone else has pointers let me and the rest of us in this thread know, it is great!

50/50 is a huge mistake. Pay her cash for the shoots instead unless you are low on funds. You are doing more than 50% of the work I'm sure. I wouldn't split it 50/50 unless it was your wife. Only a sucker would give his model half. No offense.

You're right. I have never run a single girl site, but I would deffinately pay her cash for the shoots and get a huge amount of content with her that would let me update the site for a long time after she's gone.

Well I was thinking about setting 50% as an insintive if she was to stay and update and follow the contract for a period of several months it would steadily increase and could max out there after maybe a year. I'll start low and see what I can get out.

I'm still open ears to advice and don't have any worries about getting traffic and signups just duration for how long the members stay and the models compensation are the main issues.

Anyone else have success or failure stories?

Is the girl hot? If you are pretty sure she will sell, then I think payment for shoots would be the way to go. It's better to spend more money now, than have to share good earnings in the future

We are gonna open a solo girl site and we gonna hire her for a monthly salary
Only the models that gonna shoot ocassionally with her, will be paid per session, at least until they get their own site.

Overall, I have a few good ideas how to make profit with the site in general, but it's obvious that I cannot share my specific ideas with you.

I cant speak for other people, but I feel gay as hell trying to immitate a model answering emails. I would check them(the emails) to make sure theres no funny business, but make her do the actual typing.

Paying a percentage is a HUGE mistake IMO. The number one thing you need to know, is make sure they understand they need YOU more then you need THEM. If you have a meeting with her tell her like this:

"I am willing to pay you $25 an hour to do a shoot once every week. You have to show up on time and be willing to work for atleast 4 hours PRODUCTIVELY. You can't be late without proper notice or a hell of a good excuse. I have lots of girls willing to do this, so if you're not sure about this.. then dont waste my time or yours. You'll also have to interact with members on your own time so it is preferable that you have computer access at your home. If not we may be able to setup something where before or after the shoots you answer emails etc."

Dont tell her all the reasons why she should do this with you. If shes feels like shes in control, she will walk all over you. An extra $400 a month for getting naked and taking a couple pics every week is a lot of money to most girls. You might think its peanuts, but she'll be happy with it. You also need to make it clear that YOU own the site, not her. Any other small details should just be in the contract, no need to go over them.

If she agrees to all the above, tell her you'll get back to her 1-2 weeks after you have interviewed several other models *wink wink nudge nudge*. Then after 2 weeks you call her/email her whatever the means of contact is and say you need another interview. At that interview you show her the contract (get her to sign it) and pay her 2 weeks upfront so she feels good about the situation. Shoot a shit load of content on the first day.. like atleast 20 sets. The same for the following week. Then after the second week, you give her a little bonus $100 or whatever because you've worked her hard, she'll be really happy and you'll have enough content to start the site. Then every week after you do about 8-10 sets per shoot. In no time you'll be way ahead of the game and be spending next to no money on her, making it all for yourself. Just give her an extra $100 here and there, make sure shes happy, etc and you cant go wrong.

Jace is definitely right about the flakes.. but when you're paying by hour they dont expect to be rich inside of three months. They know exactly how much they will make. Most will stick around for atleast 6months and by then you have tons of content.
