        I posted a statement, actually a press release, on the board back then because their were untrue accusations being made about my business and I felt the need. A model broke her contract with me , cost me money and because I enforced my contract, she made up reasons and excuses that were untrue. End of story....

                It's not special treatment... it's common courtesy and more than that, because I actually was an affiliate it is professional courtesy. Instead of a quick email or ICQ to say hey, you can't use those thumbnails on your site or whatever, you come to the board with "Is PrivateIvy Stealing Your Content? "

                    Thanks for the reply post. The thread hit a nerve and I went off a bit and off topic. The exits argument could go on for ever, you are right.. MP links have been back for awhile. Call it burried!

                    Looks like all is being resolved between the parties. Ok, a little tense. That's the way it happens sometimes.

                    High respect for Ivy still intact. I see the logic she used and it is resolved now. Drama good for GFY post count. Ivy makes a good point about resolving things off the boards when possible.

                        For the record, after reading more of this thread that I missed because I was out all evening, my members area is NOT made up of tons of sponsor content. I have over 10,000 images of myself, over 100 of my own videos, my live camshows, etc. etc.

                        My "Girlfriends" section started in 2002 doing girlfriend gallery exchanges with other models ( you know they feature me to their members, I feature them) It worked really well and when I ran out of time to seek out new trades, I started using sponsor content and conversions were awesome. Until today, I didn't realize how large that section had gotten , LOL and have actually just finished removing all the older galleries.

                        My own content is what dominates my members area, having been updated weekly since 2002, and that is why my members stay with me and my affiliates enjoy awesome rebills.

                        And now, I'm done with the drama LOL .... I should have crashed an hour ago , but I'm climbing into bed now so you guys can drama by yourselves

                                                                Affiliate programs should have specific rules about this because it really is a goldmine. It gives people with small paysites the ability to add oodles of free content for members and it will benefit both parties. Obviously the program giving away the free content has got paying customers looking at their shit, and that can only be good.

                                                                But obviously it can be abused. If someone puts up 100 pics and has a tiny text link at the bottom of the page, well then, that's no good, is it?

                                                                However, if you make a rule like.. 1 prominent link for every 10 pictures, or 15 pictures, etc. Could work out really well.

                                                                Of course, permission should always be required.

                                                                            Well thats about it... we tried to be diffrent and people loved us for it and others just abused teh shit out of it and now when we find someone who we would have assumed knowed better doing wrong we are basicly forced to change it.. shame really but we will still make sure our good webmasters who send more then 50 clicks in a span of 8 months can get hooked up with the good stuff.

                                                                                    If I was planning on working with sponsor content in my members area it would work out perfectly...I use sitedepth.com with the upsell banners activated....and each gallery only shows 20 images per page with the upsell banner on top and bottom....so, that would be a perfect scenario for this type of situation

                                                                                                there really isn't anything wrong with upselling a member to another site because believe it or not, some surfers will be members at more than one site at a time...

                                                                                                I had a friend who used to be an avid porn site fan (quite a time before TGP's and all the free content available now) and he would often have memberships to 3-4 sites at a time. The reason? some had content the others didn't have.

                                                                                                Think of it this way: you have a specialized site dedicated to ebony women and that's pretty much all you have in your site and it's exclusive content, why not offer another site ina different niche to your members? They might not only keep recurring for you for your exclusive ebony content, but might also stick around to that latina site or anal site you upsold them to.

                                                                                                If you have a great site with loyal members, why not use that trust and recomend other non-competing sites to them?

                                                                                                I do agree 100 pics for one tiny text link would be a slap in the face, but a gallery of 20-25 pics with a prominent link shouldn't be much of a problem, but that should be a sponsor's call.

                                                                                                Bottom line: keep in constant contact with your sponsors.

                                                                                                                                                        As for the page I had on my site that showed small thumbnails of numerous "girlfriends" that I featured in the members area to give them an idea of who was inside, it honestly never ocurred to me that it was considered "stealing" . I had always had that page, since back in 2002 and I'm sure I got the idea from other sites that were doing the same, many of which used my own image and name and I never thought twice about it because I knew they were promoting me in their members area.

                                                                                                                                                        So many single model sites use thumbnails on their update pages , etc. to show when they add a new girlfriend feature ( girlfriend gallery exchanges,etc.) and until this thread I never thought anything about it.

                                                                                                                                                        I have pulled that page down, because I do understand the point that was made on that.

                                                                                                                                                        I don't see any need to stay here and dwell on this issue and reply to every accusation or hate post ? If that makes me childish, then I guess I'm childish.

                                                                                                                                                        I stand behind my statement that if there was an issue, I should have been contacted via email or ICQ and it would have been handled promptly. I understand bringing drama to the boards as a last result , etc. and this was not the case.

But I shoot content, and I tell you if this were my situation, a c and d would be issued, or prosecution would start, and the penalties for copyright infringement of this type start at $100,000 per image per use. I'm pretty sure if she simply would have asked someone at MP if she could use the content, it never would have been an issue. I'm not hating on Ivy personally, but she DID make a mistake, one that could have potentially seen her facing a court date. Better to have it done with and over here than in a courtroom, no?

                                                                                                                                                                                                    Pretty obvious that Ivy reads the board because she posted in the thread. However, I do believe if you notice at first, no site names were mentioned etc. I don't see anywhere in the initial posts at all.. Seems to me there was a fair bit of miscommunication, a lot of which could have been simply avoided by her asking permission to use the content. Chances are that she didn't realize people would have the issue they are because SHE doesn't, but her business model doesn't work for everyone. Chances are it was a complete oversight on her behalf, but I also believe that a program that spends tens of thousands of dollars on exclusive content should have the right to defend that, especially in the best interests of their other webmasters. Hopefully all parties can meet somewhere in the middle.

                                                                                                                                                                                                    As I said before though, it could just as easily have ended up as litigation. It didn't, so chances are people can still make good by proferring apologies? If that's hating, cuff me :P
