Nothing personal against badmunchkin but he is a print broker. He does not own the equipment, he resells a product. They [brokers] have cut prices so low that it's hard for us printers to cover our overhead and stay in business. There have been over 5 printers in the Bay Area alone that have closed down within the last 2 years because of this. Brokers are basically whoring themselves out at rock bottom prices and expect printers to take the actual monetary hit. They don't have any overhead that they have to worry about.

My Karat74 costed me $550,000 and the Heidelberg was well over a million. I have a 13,000 square foot facility with a $12,000 monthly electric bill and 40 employees I have to pay. If the price cutting trend continues then I will eventually have to close my shop. I have over 100 brokers that resell my product and depend on me but what they don't realize is that I don't make enough profit off of them to cover my overhead because of this price slashing bullshit going on in our industry.

If I wanted to I could offer the EXACT SAME PRODUCT for $30 and still make about $5 profit, I just choose not to.

You aren't the only service provider that handles resellers and brokers. Everyone experiences things like that. Hit me up when you want to talk about the hosting wars and you'll have a nice little chuckle.

I am a print broker - I have never once denied it. But to say I'm not a competitor - you can believe whatever you want. I do a TREMENDOUS amount of business - that's why I get obscenely low prices from my suppliers & pass it on to the customer.

I've heard some complaints about your company - although we're filling runs every week we're not getting complaints. I spoke with you once on ICQ - you gave me a high and mighty attitude - didn't exactly impress me or maybe you would have received some of my considerable business. The suppliers I do business with are extremely happy working with me - like I said, yea, that's why my prices stay so low.

Also, honestly I think the 14 pt is a much better product & we pride ourselves on offering it. I've got fast turnaround, great product and a great price - so whatever. I don't get in your threads & start drama - so nothing against you or Dre, but... stay outta my announcement threads & I'll stay outta yours

well that's entirely subjective now, isn't it? We have 3 different designers & we are not a high-priced design outfit - we offer designs incredibly cheap as a package deal as I think I've explained to you numerous times. We're not in the same type of business as you really. We're high volume, very affordable & quick turnaround on designs. And most people love our design work - you can pick out one example and have a laugh - it's not going to be representative of the full spectrum, but thanks for proving again what a childish jerk you are...

I just don't think you have a good attitude. And you charge a helluva lot more for your designs - you're in a different market.

We create attractive, marketable designs (see first page of thread) for mass consumption - kind of like the wal-mart of design. We do a lot of design, fast, efficiently and cheaply. You're going for the top-shelf - it's a totally different market. It's not fair to compare them...
