I agree I have had problems with it in the past as well, unfortunately Vanilla TGP requires it... You can't just disable the thumb cropping utility even temporarily .. You must have this to do the install itself
Maybe I'lll just use different software - what a shame as I liked the way it looks... I never have problems doing simple php installs like this, I have spent 4 hours + on this today dealing with Web Air and making sure everything was in order including all paths etc... I had it all right from the get go
