You already have record that dell charged you, dell also seems to have no qualms about telling you they got the laptop and sent it elsewhere for out of warranty repairs. So they have already admitted to getting the laptop and taking responsibility for it.
Now why in the hell would you turn this over to your attorney? It is at most a few grand value if that. You can easily get this resolved yourself and unless your attorney is prepaid or it costs you basically nothing to use him what would you expect him to do that would be worth the cost?
