I just got a good deal on an H-P (which I understand is built by Compaq). This is just for a second desktop machine for bookkeeping chores and correspondence mainly. My assistant uses it. It supposedly has a faster processor than my put-together graphics machine, but WOW...they have loaded it down so much with H-P specific and special functions and software that it takes forever to load and run a program.

Next time, I'll just have the local computer shop put together another machine for me. The one I usually use will put together a very basic machine for $400. For what I paid for the H-P ($649) , I could soup up that $400 machine real good.
