You used the Vonage modem (the grey router) or the Vonage thing itself? I have Vonage, but I run my Vonage phone adapter between the router and the phone, so I don't think its that either.
I can't, the laptop can't even find the router or signal at all. It's like I am using the laptop in the middle of the Mojave Desert. I will try resetting the router and see if that fixes it, if not then maybe the LAN card crapped out?

Here's my setup:
Cable -> Comcast cable modem -> Lynksys Router ( computer & vonage plugged into router)
My last part: I mean with your laptop turned on, and the wireless nic card turned on, when you log into your router from a computer directly connected to it, does your laptop show up as an "attached device" ( i think that's the link in the admin screen ) ? If your router can't see the laptop, perhaps you're right about the laptop's nic card dying.
