Do some of you guys do anything else besides Bitch about someone or something???

A prime recent example of this is the Internext show and all that surrounded it. So the show floor wasnt packed with a bunch of people looking for free T shirts and other handouts, big deal, the attendees who showed up were there to do business. We had a booth, always had someone there getting The FUBAR Times autographed by Jordan and Taylor from Lightspeed Cash. Both myself and Mrs FUBAR talked to quite a number of people over the 3 day span.You work with the people attending, not the ones not there. Its a wonder that some of you make any money, sitting at home behind your keyboard, tearing down what some one is building up

isn't it always better to do business with a ton of people, and not be forced to do business with only the small amount there? seems like a wierd rationale to me man, I would rather a packed house and tons of business, then have to settle for something else

I think what the main bitch is is that people are drawn to the trade shows yearly for the goal of doing business, when it costs so much to attend, exhibit, etc one has to break down the ROI on it and when that ROI isn't made, bitching begins. A show is what you make of it and I think what most are realizing is that shows are not bringing in the business that it use to.

So when one pays X amount of dollars to attend a show to get business done and the show floor is empty, then yes, people do have something to bitch about.

AVN has done a great job over the last few years of killing what use to be the best show. What you didn't hear bitches about were the parties, dinners, etc.

I walked away from this show with six pages of notes, and it cost less than $300 for me total including gas for the drive out there. That's a pretty good ROI.

Of course, you are very well connected in this industry, imagine the ROI for those who have been in this business, but have not attended shows in the past, or for newere webmasters etc.

I don't know what people really expected with such an expensive show and so many other distractions - the parties, Vegas itself, etc.

Any trade show is what YOU make it. Those that wanted to business I'm sure did and came away happy.

I'm positive that I make alot more money than you and I've never been to a show. There are only a few people worth dealing with in this business, everybody else is a waste of time. I second that rick, not just because we deal with eachother in real life on a daily basis, but that I feel the same way, I have never set foot in any of those shows and never plan too. It is funny however to see how many peons feel the need to go to them in the hopes that they will be seen as some sort of "player" when in reality, it is really quite evident that the vast majority are mearly trying to hard to be something they are not. Ricks is perhaps one out of 2 of the other multi millionaires that I deal with regularly that use gfy and or are tied in somehow to this industry. Yes 2.

Most of the regulars that I have talked to from here are full of shit when it comes to real life.

that isn't true at all, I have been to plenty of shows.....just seems silly to me to defend a show that obviously wasn't all it should have been...yeah, of course business was done at the show, as it always has been and always will be, but as a business man, it makes more sense to me to market to the MASSES, not the FEW

i think it is all a matter of preference really, I personally would love to stand up in a crowd of 1000 and tell everyone about my product, while others would like to sit with a few people and discuss the product

The only heat I've gotten at any show was from the sun

Besides, if you're afraid to show your face to fellow "lowlifes" ... and consider people in the industry I assume you work in as such, then you're probably better off staying at home with your "millions".

I can see that one doesnt have to go to shows to do well but my main motivation for going would be seeing people I know and meeting cool people. On the internet side I have found everyone is very friendly and cool. Also a FYI if your making millions in Adult they know who you are already lol

The show is what you make of it, I had a blast and it was great seeing you and Sandy JFK!

I think people live to bash this show because it helps them justify the reason why they could'nt afford to go and pay the price to attend. I for one have never lost money attending a tradeshow but I am in a different part of the market than most.

I remember when the booths were huge. AVN wasn't a gorilla. Webmasters weren't cheap. A small number of webmasters were making millions without all the teenage flakes looking for something for nothing.

If you didn't have bitching, there would be no GFY. There would be no controversy, and you, JFK, are protecting your own interests, not mine or the multitudes. If there is too much bitching and nobody shows up, you have no job, my man, so now you are bitching.

Just relax and take your pictures. Bitching is good on the boards, because those who are bitching may get it out of their systems and go home and be decent human beings.
