I still remember like it was yesterday. I was away on a 2 month vacation in Europe, sitting in an internet cafe in peaceful and relaxing Venice Italy. I was reading my email and of course reading GFY.

It was like a bad dream. We ran back to our hotel and turned on the tv. Couldnt understand any of the language on the TV but saw pictures that said a thousand words.
...
IT is a day Ill never forget, and I still cant believe GFY was the News source of Venice Italy for the short period of time this news first came out.
Reading some of the old GFY posts from 9-11 sure brings back lots of distrubing memories.

And to think your government and other EU governments (not to talk about the stupid UN) still oposes attack on Iraq. (and please don't start with the - "whats the connection").
Your story is well told and interesting nonetheless. Thx for sharing.
It was indeed a ground-shaking day. I was stunned and I am never surprised or "cought off guard".
I've seen terror acts before (some of you may not realize that but terror existed before 9/11), but seeing a whole nation (US) looses her virginity (and naivity) - US I mean was a sad and shocking moment for me. Such a scale of horror gives you a great sense of unrest - atleast me.
