YouTube in talks with Hollywood studios, will they own tomorrow's rental market?

If selling ads isn't generating the results Google had hoped for then it only makes sense to monetize YouTube's enormous audience by offering hollywood movie streaming rentals.

Do you think YouTube could own tomorrow's movie rental market?

    Not a Bad Idea.
It can give Netflix a run for it's money.

Just plug your laptop to your TV, and VOD. Sounds like a win win to me.

I can see it doing very well, especially since they are moving to an HD platform or already have.

i could even see myself renting a movie off of youtube, i have my computer plugged into my projector.

if they make it a global deal, then it would kick ass. Make it so producers could upload full movies and share the profit

They are probably the only ones who have the infrastructure to deliver right now.
