I play the sax every now and then when I'm up for it. I like playing the piano too but I don't have one so I don't play it much.

if you start off learning theory on piano it will make any other instrument you play 100x more understandable

some teachers play both and know theory ... and once you start to 'get it' its actually really cool

put same amt of time into theory as into "learning tunes" and you'll thank yourself couple years down the road - ps never too late to start!!! you are younger than you will be 10 years from now, so you are starting younger ;)

I play blues harp with local bands whenever I can. Just for fun.

I used to play in a band regularly, but the club we were housed at burned down a year ago this christmas... since then I've been too busy.

Actually I played with Area 51 at the Nefertiti lounge in Vegas last January, at Internext. That rocked.

i played violin in 4th-5th grade, then moved to viola from 6th till I was about 22 and stopped... Was pretty good, used to be in san diego youth symphony and sat 2nd chair :P

Also play piano too and compose (over 50+ songs so far heh)

learn to site read music, then you can look at the sheet and hear the tune in your head, and know a good arrangement from bad.

beginning guitarists should probably start out with chord books.

to be proficient you must practice minimum 1 hr/day every single day.

Thanks! I don't have an acoustic guitar yet, but I do want one. I have a small Marshall amp coming. Not sure which one, I didn't order it... but it's black and has cute little volume controls on it
